So, Thor's doing good, it's raked in $225 million so far...naturally, it's going to get a sequel.

According to the people at cinemablend dot com, there will be a Thor 2. They won't name their source, but they say that Marvel has been "kicking around story ideas for the sequel with the hope that they’ll have it ready and in theaters in the same year as Iron Man 3, in 2013." According to their source, there isn't a set script yet but people are looking at the Enchantress and the Executioner as the villains.

For those of you who don't know your Thor lore that well, The Enchantress (also known as Amora) is an Asguardian supervillain who has the hots for Thor. She occasionally teams up with Loki and will pretty much do whatever it takes to get Thor to like her (at least, in the early days). She also has really awesome tights. The Executioner (also known as Skurge) usually serves as her muscle. He also had one of the most badass death scenes in comics. The two were members of the Masters of Evil and are pretty much mainstays in Marvel history.

Keep in mind that there is no official word on Thor 2 period, hence the rumors tag. But yeah. Speculation ahoy!

ComingSoon.net has posted the box office estimates for this weekend which show that Thor topped the domestic box office a second weekend in a row while there was not much interested for Priest. Here are excerpts on both:

Despite the release of two new movies in wide release, Marvel Studios' Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston, remained in first place with an estimated $34.5 million, down roughly 48% from its opening weekend and bringing its North American total to $119.2 million. Internationally, the comic book adaptation added $27.5 million from 60 countries to bring its foreign total to $225 million. Thor has now reached $344.2 million worldwide.

Screen Gems' long-delayed action thriller Priest, starring Paul Bettany, opened weakly domestically with just $14.5 million in 2,864 theaters to take fourth place. Delayed in order to convert the movie into 3D, it opened weaker than Scott Stewart's debut Legion last January. Internationally, the film opened to $16.7 million in 46 countries for an overseas total of $25.6 million.
